Las Casitas

Las Casitas is an 11 acre apartment complex located in Avondale, AZ. The site was designed with the intentions of creating unique gathering spaces for area residents, reducing water use and staying true to the Arizona character. The design highlights the rental entrance and defines 3 unit gathering areas; Oasis, Arroyo, and Palm Garden. The Oasis includes the pool and a small circular grass pocket park in a Jacaranda Grove. The Arroyo centers around a dry creek bed juxtaposed with grass mounds with boulder seats. The Palm Garden hosts 3 species of palms and a spiral path. Color was brought to the site by using multiple rock tones to emphasize the plantings.
